How long does it take to get an appointment with your urologists?
In general, the doctor should be able to see you within 1 to 2 weeks of requesting an appointment. For urgent or acute needs, call our appointment desk at (210) 614-4544, and we will arrange for you to be seen the same or next day.
Which insurances do you accept?
All Urology San Antonio providers accept Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. We are in-network with most commercial insurances. To learn more, visit our Insurance & Billing page.
Do I need a referral from my family doctor to see a urologist?
Patients with HMO types of medical insurances must contact their family doctor to obtain authorization before scheduling an appointment with a medical specialist such as a urologist.
PPO insurances permit patients to self refer or an schedule appointment directly with a urologist and do not require a authorization from a family doctor.
Private/cash paying patients do not need a referral.
How do I decide which urologist to see?
For straightforward medical situations, most patients select a urologist based on the convenience of his or her clinic location. If you feel your case is more complex, you might prefer the expertise of a doctor whose clinical focus aligns with your area of concern. Meet our Physicians
Do you see children?

I do not have insurance. What is the fee for an initial appointment?
Private or cash paying patients without health insurance should be prepared to pay $350 at the time of their first appointment. If additional costs are incurred (for special testing or more extensive evaluations), we will work with you to arrange a payment plan. See our Insurance & Billing page for additional information.
I have a question about my medical care. How can I get in touch with my doctor?
If you have questions about your medical care or have not received test results within one week, call your provider’s clinic or send a secure message through the Patient Portal. Calls made after business hours should be reserved for urgent medical matters. Our answering service will forward your message to the physician on duty, and he or she will respond promptly.
What is the process for scheduling surgery?
The first step in scheduling surgery is to meet with your urologist to discuss the procedure. Within 3 to 4 days, your surgery coordinator will contact you to arrange a surgery date and inform you about what per-operative testing is required. See the surgery page for additional information.
